Status of our house:
- They were scheduled to break ground on April 19-21 but, started a week late.

- As of June 7th the first and part of the second stories were framed (see pictures below).
- As of June 11th the first and second stories were framed and they were working on the roof.
- As of July 6th the walls were up and the plumbing and wiring were in.
- As of July 12th they had the drywall up.
- We have a close date, YEAH!, of Oct. 12th.
- As of August 19th the stone is on, the siding is almost done. The cabinets are in they are trimming the inside and they will start painting later next week.
- Oct. 13th: The close went fine and we are in the house! We recieved
delivery of our appliances and belongings from storage along with the
installation of most of the appliances and utilities.
The appliance company would install a gas dryer and range, electric washer and fridge but would not install the diswasher, microwave or the water line for the refridgerator! Okay, I can understand if they are not certified to do plumbing they wouldn't want to install the dishwasher even though that isn't really plumbing. But, why not the microwave? Is a certification required for drilling, sawing or connecting a duct?
When installing a dishwasher, especially for those with large or clumsy feet, be careful of kicking the overflow switch which is usually underneath the cabinet and in my case at the right-front corner. If this happens, your diswasher will pretend to run but not actually use any water.--You get great savings on water but, not very clean dishes.
Our belongings arrived on Nov. 19th. One box number was unaccounted for but, we had two items without numbers... There was only a couple minor injuries: The mirror from a model Mini (hee, hee: a mini Mini :-) [pizza, pizza] Where did that come from?!) and a few dents in a tabletop. Though, I still cannot find my watch...
An update on the watch: The moving company very kindly sent me a check to replace it. And after initially receiving a new one that was broken that company replaced the broken one. Such trouble to know the time.
